Eko Ranger VI

Ahh those wacky Italians! Infamous in the 60's for crazy sparkle-plastic covered guitars  with a million switches, inspired by the accordians previously made by their manufacturer (Olivero Pigini of Recanati, Italy)

From the start, acoustics were an important part of the Eko line. This Ranger 6 model - with only minor variations - was made from the early 60's until the late 70's.

Although this is clearly a budget price instrument, with ply top and body with a painted sound-hole rosette, the sound is remarkably good and construction is solid. It has a few unusual features - the bolt-on neck, the adjustable height bridge (the only acoustic I have seen with this feature). Tuners are cheap open gear type, but they hold well and I have never had a problem with the instrument not staying in tune (frequently a problem with cheap guitars).

Cool Features:

    - Bolt-on neck
    - Adjustable height bridge
    - Chunky neck
    - Built like a tank
