Dean QSE Acoustic

In 1976 Dean Zelinsky's dream was to "build a better Gibson". In 1977 he started building guitars based on some of Gibson's more pointy electric guitar designs. These were high quality hand-made instruments (now much sought after), but were probably most remembered for their raunchy ads featuring scantily-clad models.

After starting to import Korean made instruments in order to hit a lower price point, Zelinsky decided to quit the guitar business and build furniture instead!

However, he continued to consult with the new Dean brand name owner and was behind several re-issues of some classic Dean designs.

This Korean made acoustic is part of Dean's 1999 attempt to bring back the brand to the US, and represented awesome value for money at the time.

The solid spruce top and quilted maple back and sides give it a bright clear sound. Abalone binding and unique shaped bridge add to the looks. Top of the line Grovers keep it in tune and a piezo pickup and  Shadow electronics module with graphic EQ and anti- feedback circuit ensures great sound plugged as well as unplugged.
