BC Rich Exclusive Acrylic

The guitar designs of the late Los Angeles luthier Bernie Rico are known mainly for their pointy shapes and names like Warlock and Bich - and an association with scary looking heavy metal bands.

Although most BC Rich's are now factory made in Korea, BC Rich's hand made and custom shop guitars are some of the finest available and include a few more conservative models like the EM1 (aka "Exclusive").

In 2000 they introduced a line of solid acrylic versions of the trademark Mockingbird and Warlock designs. Although also made in Korea the quality and attention to detail on these instruments is excellent, and unlike that other well known acrylic guitar, made my Dan Armstrong, the price is very reasonable.

As well as the "pointy's", there were also a few (I'm not sure how few) acrylics made in this more conservative "Exclusive" shape. I've never seen this model in stores and only one other like it on eBay.

This more standard shape might be less appealing to hard core BC Rich fans, perhaps, but I actually prefer it (one of the nicer shapes around, I think) - and it has a little rarity value, too.
